The MEC is working with the Melrose
Park Department, which runs the golf
course at Mount Hood, to evaluate the
feasibility of an energy-generating
A favorable site assessment,
completed in December of 2009 by
EAPC Wind Energy, enabled the
project to move forward.

The next step is a feasibility study. A
request for qualifications (RFQ) for a
contractor to undertake the study was
issued on July 6.

This study will determine if there is
sufficient wind on the site for a wind
turbine and examine other factors
involving the project.
